At some point in my life, I heard the following saying “Second-hand compliments sometimes mean more than a first-handed one.” Need a translation?  Basically, it’s a good idea to brag on someone you love to another person knowing that the information will eventually get back to them.  It’s a second handed compliment, a word gift given via another person. Somehow just knowing you spoke highly of a loved one to someone else validates their worth 10 times over.
